Intro
#BehindOurLens The Lion King was the first movie I ever watched in cinema. It is probably one of the major reasons why I fell in love with Africa in the first place, before even visiting. It also sparked my interest in animals. In my following time in the kindergarten I was known for being a walking animal encyclopedia. However, my favorite animal always stayed the same.
The Lion King
Lions have something special. The combine many desirable features like strength, collaboration or the ability to sleep for 2/3 of the day. Jokes aside I was excited behind compare to finally see them in the wild, especially regarding the bad news that in my short lifespan we managed to decrease their population by 43%.
This one on this was not my first lion encounter, but by far My best shot I believe. Due to their decreasing number it got actually quite challening to see them. Shoting is also not as easy because as all the other animals they move quite a bit. Nevertheless, in this picture I think I managed to capture their majestic looks.
I hope that we will manage to save this unique creatures as well as many others. Just the imagination of a planet without any life forms except humans makes me mad. But if the Wise Rafiki from my favorite movie thaught me one thing it is that “The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” So lets start learning!
